Jiu Jitsu’s magnetic mix of strategic thinking, along with the ability to blend somatic and cognitive therapy, captured my attention from the start. I had tried multiple self-improvement tools up to this point, and Jiu Jitsu was the first thing to stick. It’s more than a martial art; it’s a way to continuously challenge and better yourself. I’ve been told you either find Jiu Jitsu or it finds you, in my case it was exactly what my son and I needed and the exact right time.
Sharing the profound impact Jiu Jitsu has had on my life is my driving force. Seeing students develop confidence, discipline, and skill through my guidance is incredibly rewarding and purposeful. I feel immensely grateful to have a tool to offer that helps bring them back into their body to digest the day in a safe and accepting atmosphere. If I can change the trajectory of even one person’s mindset in the face of difficult challenges, that’s more than enough.
I have a special appreciation for those who approach training with the willingness to try difficult, uncomfortable things consistently. Because of my past experiences, I often gravitate toward women, children, and those who’ve suffered from PTSD like myself. I feel as though I have a unique gift to empathize with those struggling and looking to add tools to their recovery and journey to fulfillment. Clients who embrace challenges and strive for growth are the ones I connect with the most.
My greatest inspiration is the children I work with. They often remind me of the natural instinctive desire to play and approach things in the moment with very few limiting beliefs. I’m fortunate to have had the chance to witness these kids face adversity and push through their fears and limitations in courageous ways. They are my main source of motivation and drive to continually dedicate myself to the art in order to improve my mindset, skills, and push myself to my outer limits.
I hold a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu and have academic certifications/degrees within the child development field as well as Business Management, which enable me to provide comprehensive training to individuals of all levels.
I’ve been training in Jiu Jitsu for almost 5 years and sharing my knowledge as a coach for 1 year.
I’m passionate about fostering growth in myself and others through the art of Jiu Jitsu. Join me on the mat and let’s embark on this incredible journey together
