Caleb Morsey
Prior to starting Jiu Jitsu I was already training in the martial arts for a few years. I started to hear more and more about BJJ. I was told how it was vital in order to be a complete and well rounded martial artist. More importantly I listened to the testimony of others and how it shaped their lives into something unrecognizable. Jiu Jitsu is a mirror, it doesn’t lie but rather shows precisely and clearly who you are. This challenge to my character and my body has made me into someone I appreciate and find worth striving for. I love coaching all kinds of kids. The bully who needs someone to care and redirect. The intimidated who struggle to even make eye contact and the oblivious who just need structure. I know few things more rewarding in life than being able to take part in giving the building blocks of confidence and ability with humility to a young and growing person. I truly believe with all my heart that Jiu Jitsu creates the foundation for a good and capable human being. I find my inspiration in my faith and the love and kindness of the various warriors around me at Alliance Jiu Jitsu. As a purple belt I still have an endless journey ahead of me, but it feels like one I am capable of making with tools that I continue to receive. These past 4 years of training consistently and 3 years of coaching have made more of an impact in my life than anything else I’ve participated in. I hope to give back what I have received to every child I coach for the benefit of future generations and the people of my community.
