Branden Frazier
I started training because I am a huge Jocko fan and he is a major advocate of Jiu Jitsu. In addition to the self defense aspects, I loved knowing Jiu Jitsu was going to force me to keep learning and using my mind, as well as my body.
Two reasons. First and most important, coaching is a way to give back to our community. This is important to me given how much I have received from Alliance Carlsbad. Second, coaching forces me to really learn a movement. Therefore, by coaching and helping others, I am also improving my own skills. Plus, I love being the Uke for our Professors! Feeling them demonstrate a movement, while helping them coach a class, is like a private lesson every time.
Anyone who is excited to learn. I’m still learning myself so it is awesome to share the journey with others who are excited to walk through the doors.
Every person who feels like they should not be able to succeed in Martial Arts and shows up anyhow. The Mom, Dad, older person, weaker person, it’s just amazing to see them shine as they learn what they are capable of.
I’m presently a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu and as green as you can be in Muay Thai.
I started training in 2018 and received my blue belt at the end of 2019. I immediately started assistant coaching at that time.
